The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place in the Pleasant Valley area Thursday morning.

Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade said a woman shot her husband around 10:30 a.m. at their home on Rocky Hollow Road near Pleasant Valley High School. The man was flown to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment. His condition was unknown Thursday afternoon. Wade said investigators were on their way to Birmingham to check on the man Thursday afternoon.

Wade said the Sheriff’s Office is unsure whether a crime was committed and said the shooting might have been accidental. Investigators were still looking into the incident Thursday afternoon. No arrests have been made, Wade said.
