Shelby’s view on fracking

Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby responded to my inquiry on “fracking” by letting me know for certain that his friends, the corporate oil companies, can do anything they want in our forest or even our farms and water.

He cited noble but indemonstrable platitudes about American energy independence and jobs, and he assured me that as he throws us Alabamians to the wolves, he’ll make sure that the wolves will eat us up under strict federal guidelines.

Curiously, he asks us to trust the government he daily vilifies as incompetent under the Democratic administration.
