The nation’s birthday can foster different emotions from different people. For veterans and civilians, for politicians and immigrants, for children and adults, the Fourth of July is a time of national pride.

Please email your responses in 150 words or less to, or mail them to The Star, P.O. Box 189, Anniston, Ala., 36202. Make sure to include your name and city.

We’ll publish a collection of responses during the July 4 holiday.
