When I started college, my family was unsure about how we would be able to pay for my education. Thanks to a Pell Grant, I’ve been able to attend school and pursue a career I’m passionate about. Coming from a middle-class family, I don’t know that we would have been able to afford a four-year degree otherwise. Now, I’m prepared for my first job and will be able to support myself with what I’ve learned.

Thanks to President Obama’s efforts to reform the student-loan system, now other students like me are able to receive Pell Grants. He’s been able to free up $60 billion to distribute in loans by cutting out big banks from the grant system. He’s also established a tax credit to help middle-class families send their kids to school. I know that has helped my family.

President Obama has done a lot to make college more affordable. And because he and the first lady also had student loans and worked hard to repay them, he knows there’s more work to do. I know he’ll have my best interest in heart through a second term.
