Friday, March 2, 2012, was a special day for the Anniston Morning Rotary Club. Twelve members were named to the Paul Harris Fellowship Society of the Rotary Foundation, one of the highest honors that can be given to a member of Rotary. A Paul Harris Fellowship is earned through continued generous financial support of the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Foundation was formed in 1917 with the simple mission of “doing good in the world.” Today, the Rotary Foundation works to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health and education, and the alleviation of poverty. More than $80 million is contributed annually to the Rotary Foundation, mainly from the Paul Harris Fellowships.

The Anniston Morning Rotary Club has a small membership of 17. All of the 17 members now hold Paul Harris Fellowships, making the club one of only three to hold this distinction in the state of Alabama.
