Mamba Nation Battle – iOS - Free

Have you ever wished to play a fighting game with an axe-wielding cheerleader? Perhaps a bunny carrying a sword? Maybe a pirate brandishing a rolling pin? If so, Mamba Nation Battle from BulkyPix is right up your alley.

MNB is an online iOS fighting game that features custom avatars as combatants. The first step is choosing how you want your character to look and what weapon they will be using during fights. An insane number of outfits are available to dress your avatar. My personal favorite is the afore-mentioned rolling pin pirate.

The next step is choosing an opponent to battle from the list provided. Once selected, both players are thrust into battle.

The touchscreen controls work very well, even for a fighting game. The precision really opens up the game for strategy. You won’t be fighting with the controls, so the mind will be free to focus on what’s happening on-screen.

MNB looks as good as it plays. The vibrant colors and backgrounds stand out above many free iOS titles. The costumes are also very well-designed.

Once you exit a fight, you’ll be asked if you want to share the result on Facebook. The game has a big social media presence, and it meshes well with the style of the game.

Because it is a universal app, MNB can be played on both iPhone and iPad.

The game also appears to have Air Play support, though I was unable to test it for this review.

Mamba Nation Battle is a cute fighter that any iOS gamer should check out. The level of support for a free title is exceptional, and, while the game has in-app paid content, it doesn’t feel forced. The social aspect is always welcomed and can extend the game’s life span among friends.
