Anniston City Councilman Ben Little needs to be removed from the council, the sooner the better. He owes the Anniston Police Department an apology for his insulting comments (“If they don’t know they’re on call and they get stoned and you call them up, they’re still no good”).

Of course, no apology was forthcoming. There never is when he is abusing his position and using it to run down individuals putting their lives on the line for our city. Remember his comments about wanting Solutia to pay up because the company has damaged Anniston’s image? This sad council has done more damage to Anniston than any person or place in the last three-plus years.

Does anyone else remember the thousands of dollars spent by this council because Little got his feelings hurt? But he of such little character never misses an opportunity to speak his narrow-minded views, and in doing so he has caused numerous hard feelings in this town. He is quick to say individuals complain to him about the police presence in their area. Could it be these are the very individuals who require the involvement in the first place?

Please, Anniston, wake up, you deserve so much more from your elected officials than a sad acting-out during meetings that shows up in print every day. Take your city back!
