Some people like to run their mouth about the Anniston Police Department being corrupt. Is it corrupt to enforce the laws of this state? Others want to be paid tens of thousands of dollars for inquiries into the police department that turn up nothing.
The Anniston Police aren’t corrupt. Those officers are out patrolling some of the most dangerous streets in the nation. The department can only be as strong as the community that supports it. Anniston’s own joke of a city council won’t support the department. The councilmen are too worried about what’s in it for them.
The death of Officer Justin Sollohub isn’t some racial issue that some are making it out to be. The real issue is simple — stop preaching hate. We have to get back to basics. Teach right from wrong and respect for each other. Red and yellow, black or white, we are precious in His sight. How much more violence will the community take?
