Anniston investigators are searching for a male suspect who robbed a local Jack's restaurant manager Monday evening.

Investigators said an unidentified male suspect assaulted the Jack's manager around 6 p.m. Monday while he was attempting to drop off an undisclosed amount of store money at the “night drop” box at the Wells Fargo at 21 Bill Robison Parkway.

While the 48-year-old Jack's manager was sitting in his car in the bank parking lot, the suspect approached the vehicle, reached through the open driver's-side window and struck the man in the face and neck, Sgt. Fred Forsythe said.

The suspect then grabbed the deposit envelopes from the victim and ran away, investigators said.

Forsythe declined to release the amount of money stolen from the Jack's manager.

Police are attempting to obtain surveillance video from the Wells Fargo branch in the hopes it will provide them with identifying information about the suspect.
