The new Chick-Fil-A shake for summer is banana pudding. Chick-Fil-A polled its customers on what seasonal shakes they’d like to see, and the answer came back, “banana something.”
The banana pudding shake is thick, cold and creamy, heavy on the banana flavor, with bits of Nilla wafers mixed in. And they’re not soggy Nilla wafer bits, either. They’re still crunchy.
The banana pudding shakes are $2.49 for a small, $2.89 for a large, and come topped with a mountain of whipped cream and a cherry.
Chick-Fil-A shakes are made with its patented soft-serve Ice Dream, which is not quite real ice cream, but is closer than the stuff they serve at bigger fast food chains.
If you want a shake made with real ice cream, try Jack’s (hand-dipped shakes made with Blue Bell ice cream) or Cecil’s Place in Jacksonville (hand-dipped shakes made with Mayfield ice cream).
If you want real banana pudding, we recommend the down-home version at the Porter House buffet in Oxford, or the gourmet version that’s now on the dessert buffet at Classic on Noble’s Sunday brunch.
