I don’t really feel much like writing today. First of all, the trees are apparently trying to kill me with their pollen. And I’m tired. Here, just look at this. This is my schedule for the past few days. (Note that this doesn’t include work.)

May 16: 9:30 a.m. pre-school graduation practice (I teach music once a week at a pre-school run by our church, which puts me in charge of the songs for the graduation program.); 5:30 p.m. makeup soccer game for Child No. 2.

May 17: 8 a.m. parents’ association meeting at school; 5 p.m. makeup soccer game for Child No. 2.

May 18: 6:15 a.m. chaperone all-day field trip to Montgomery; 6:15 p.m. church choir practice.

May 19: 9:30 a.m. pre-school graduation practice; 1 p.m. get my teeth cleaned; 5 p.m. soccer practice for Child No. 2.

May 20: 10 a.m. pre-school graduation (shout out to Narriah, Andres, Deja, Aniyah, Logan, Kenneth, Evelyn, Victor, Charcari and Kate! I’m so proud of you!); 3:30 p.m. drop off Child No. 2 at birthday party; 6 p.m. drop off Child No. 1 at end-of-school-year party; 6:30 p.m. pick up Child No. 2; 8 p.m. pick up Child No. 1. How long again until the children are old enough to drive?

May 21: 9 a.m. soccer game for Child No. 2; 10:30 a.m. All-Star soccer game for Child No. 1; 2:30 p.m. Another All-Star soccer game for Child No. 1.

May 22: 8 a.m. husband and Child No. 2 to early church service; 9:15 a.m. choir practice; 10:30 a.m. me and Child No. 1 to late church service; noon church picnic on the grounds; 1 p.m. book sale at the library; 5 p.m. drop off Child No. 1 at youth group year-end party, 8 p.m. pick up Child No. 1.

May 23: 10:30 a.m. dermatologist appointment; 6 p.m., emergency trip to store for milk and bread.

May 24: 9 a.m. fasting blood test. (I’m not really a masochist, scheduling all these dentist and doctors’ appointments in a span of six days, but if I don’t get it done before school is out, then I have to take the kids with me, and that’s worse.) 11:15 a.m. school musical. Noon, school lets out early; 1 p.m. send flowers for in-laws’ anniversary and schedule haircut for self because I haven’t had time until now and it looks like a small disheveled animal is sleeping on top of my head; 3:45 p.m. parent-teacher conference; 6 p.m. year-end soccer party for Child No. 1 (OK, at this point I collapsed on the couch and we missed the soccer party.)

May 25: Noon, school lets out early; 1:45 p.m. pick up kids from friend who picked them up for me after school because I had a business lunch at noon; 2:15 p.m. drop off Child No. 1 at piano lesson, 3 p.m. pick up Child No. 1, drop off Child No. 2 for piano lesson, 3:15 p.m. drop off Child No. 1 at church for acolyte training, 3:45 p.m. pick up Child No. 2 from piano lesson, 4 p.m. pick up Child No. 1 from church, 6:15 p.m. drop self back at church for choir practice. 7:15 p.m. emergency trip to store for milk and bread. Oh, and a bottle of chocolate syrup for year-end party at school.

May 26: 11 a.m. … School’s. Out. For. Summer.
