Fortunately, many of us have lived long enough to have an understanding of racism, bigotry and hate. We have also learned that if an individual has to deny being a racist, it is a true indication that the claimant is probably a racist.

The thought process of those who ascribe to political rhetoric bears out the old analysis that 5 percent of the population really thinks, and 5 percent think that they think. The other 90 percent will do anything to keep from thinking.

Case in point, the “birthers” and the Tea Party conglomerate who spread the lies about the legitimacy of the president’s citizenship. The 90 percent of haters who have not the ability to reason for themselves buy into the planned hate rhetoric by those who know better.

If you happen to be a racist, don’t go around trying to convince others that you are not a racist. If you are not, it will be known by the way you treat all people in all walks of life. Otherwise, you may open your mouth and remove all doubt as to who you really are.
