Claude Jerome Moore, 52, was charged with felony first-degree assault in the incident, a police report shows.
Police said that around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Moore stabbed his 46-year-old male friend twice during an altercation – once above the kidney and again in the back.
Investigators said the altercation ensued in the 700 block of Morrisville Road after Moore returned his friend’s pickup truck with an empty gas tank.
The victim told investigators he allowed Moore to borrow the truck earlier Saturday and gave Moore money to fill the tank up with gas when he was finished.
Investigators said the victim confronted Moore when the suspect returned the truck without having filled it up with gas.
A fight between the two men ensued, during which Moore used a knife to stab the victim twice, police said.
The victim went to a hospital for treatment, Lt. Rocky Stemen said, but it was unclear what hospital and whether the victim would need surgery for his wounds.
Moore was custody at the Calhoun County Jail Monday on a $15,000 bond.
