Anniston police Monday were searching for a 65-year-old man they suspect attempted to shoot a McKleroy Avenue homeowner during a Sunday afternoon argument.

The 45-year-old male victim reported to police that he and his 65-year-old acquaintance got into an argument around noon Sunday, outside the victim’s home, in the 2800 block of McKleroy Avenue. During the argument, the suspect walked to his tan-and-gray Chevrolet pickup, pulled out a handgun and fired at the victim, a police report shows.

The gunshot missed the victim, and the suspect left the scene.

Police said they do not know the cause of the argument and had not located the suspect by Monday afternoon.
