Even when AU plays well, Medley will find a way to sneak in a negative slant, usually based solely upon opinion, as manifested early this season prior to the Southeastern Conference/NCAA investigations into allegations of misconduct by a player.
Insofar as Florida is concerned, those alleged improprieties (which were illegally leaked) would have occurred years ago. And, in any case, is it not considered wisdom to grow and learn from one’s mistakes? Regard the player, not the parent.
Medley will dampen the spirit of the most optimistic Auburn fan, particularly since he never does the same nit-picking when writing Alabama articles. I wonder, did Medley even attend Alabama or earn a degree from that fine institution? Unfortunately, he shows the same sad mentality that is so prevalent among UA fans — that the Tide should always prevail in this state, and Auburn belongs somewhere in the back field picking cotton.
Fighting furiously and over much adversity, Auburn finds itself at the top, and Medley doesn’t like it. So, as is his style, he finds fault — AU got there by leap-frogging over more deserving teams. Sorry, Joe. Many might just call that sour grapes.
