Once upon a time on Hawk Pass Street there was a guy named Bob. He was very nice. Bob put up a scarecrow; his name was Jack. On Halloween night he came alive. A girl saw Jack walking.

She told everybody about it but nobody believed her. She was sad. The scarecrow was going trick-or-treating and nobody noticed him. At another house, he met a pumpkin and his name was Justin. He was always happy. He ended up being a basket for Jack to hold candy in.

Then somebody realized that Jack and Justin were real. Jack and Justin were very scared. So they ran away and everybody saw Jack and Justin run. Bob didn’t see him run away, and Jack was glad that Bob did not see him. Jack the scarecrow got on his post quickly, but Jack had Justin still in his hands, and Bob saw Justin the pumpkin in Jack’s hands. Now Bob was scared. He said, “I wonder who put Justin the pumpkin in Jack’s hands?” Bob asked everyone, even his dog, and no one knew. Then Bob figured it out. Jack and Justin were real. So they ate candy all night.
