There are few things we can write in this space that would adequately thank all the educators in St. Clair County for all they have done for us. That fact was driven home this week as Lude Mashburn, longtime teacher at St. Clair County High, discussed his official retirement.

Mashburn is just one of many longtime, beloved teachers in the county who are walking away at the end of this school year. Thousands upon thousands of students — and their parents — owe them all a debt of gratitude.

Thanks to all, and the best of luck.
