Nothing in life is certain, but in the past few years, the Leeds Green Wave and success on the gridiron has come close.
The Green Wave came up one game short of another 3A state championship last week in Tuscaloosa, as powerful Madison Academy handled them 31-14 at Bryant-Denny Stadium. However sour the final taste, though, the journey was a memorable one: Leeds’ defense and powerful running game pancaked the competition to eight straight victories on their way to the final game.
Green Wave fans have reason to be hopeful for the future, as well – Leeds is flush with underclassmen, including quarterback Tadarryl Marshall, who turned in a career game in Tuscaloosa. And junior wideout Jacoby Lockhart, who promised, "We’ll be back."
Good luck in the offseason, guys. And thanks for the memories.
