The annual Kid’s Blitz at Flow Church in Ashville was held July 24-26 with two services each night. One at 5:30 and the other at 8 p.m.

Pastor Shane Bearden said there were 600 to 700 in attendance (kids and adults) each night.

The name of this year’s Kid Blitz was "It’s Showtime."

They used movies, past, present and future to deliver a gospel message each night, centered around the scripture "Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105).

The motto was "Follow The Script!"

God’s word is the ultimate "script" for life.

Each night included games, dances, blacklight dramas and illustrated messages. They also used skits, featuring the likes of the "3 Stooges," The Queen of Hearts from "Alice in Wonderland" and Captain Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Caribbean." The skits were written and directed by Bearden and his wife Misty.

All of the songs used during Kid Blitz were written by Matt Akins, a staff pastor at Flow Church, his wife Leslie and his sister Katie Marie Akins.

Bearden said Flow Church is blessed to have many wonderfully talented members.

Bearden said there were 36 kids and four adults to accept Jesus as Savior over the three nights of services and four more adults the following Sunday.

"Each child that was born again got to sign a specially designated ‘Wall of Faith’ that had a star for each one of them," Bearden said. "We finished this year’s Kid Blitz with a carnival and fireworks show the following Sunday. There were hundreds who came out to celebrate what The Lord has done."
