There was some great hymn singing, a full choir and a full house at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Saturday.

Pell City’s Landon King put together what was called a Red Back Church Hymnal Singing.

Redena King is the music minister at Mt. Moriah, and said her son has been involved in the convention singing the past several years.

“Landon worked on this event for the past several months,” Redena King said. “Many churches have this type singing throughout the state and Southeast. We were pleased that our home church, Mt. Moriah, was able to host this event tonight.”

Various musicians led the singing, including Leslie Everhart from Gardendale First Baptist Church, Tony Ivey, Landon King, Tommy Sandifer, Mark Piper and Glen Wilson from Texas.

Some of the great hymns of faith that were sung included “Won’t it Be Wonderful There,” “Blessed Assurance,” “Victory in Jesus,” “Living By Faith,” “Heaven’s Jubilee,” “I Never Shall Forget the Day,” “I’ve Never Been Sorry,” “Rock of Ages,” “I’ll Meet You in the Morning,” and many, many more.

All total, there were 44 of the greatest hymns ever written that were sung that night.
