Springville Key Club wins big at State Convention

The Springville High School Key Club attended the Alabama State Convention recently and won several awards. Lindsey Spruiell placed first in the talent competition earning the right to compete at International Convention in Anaheim, CA this summer. Taryn Davenport won the club first place in digital media with her Key Club media poster, also winning the right for her poster to compete at International Convention.  Amanda Keener Umphrey, the club’s advisor, was awarded the Robert Botsford Outstanding Key Club Advisor of the Year award. Club awards were also awarded in overall club achievement, charity fundraising, and other categories. The club raised $2,500 this year for Children’s Miracle Network, Reading is Fundamental, National Breast Cancer Foundation, American Heart Association, Unicef/Eliminate, and American Childhood Cancer Society. A few members of the club and Mrs. Umphrey will attend the International Convention coming soon.
