Odenville Elementary School

Summer hours at OES are Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is closed on Fridays.

Registration will be held every Monday in July until school begins.

Kindergarten Kamp for incoming Odenville Elementary School students will be July 21-24. If you completed a Kindergarten Kamp form at OES registration, you will be contacted soon. Also, if you would like more information regarding Kindergarten Kamp, please contact becky.fondren@sccboe.org.

Supply lists are available on the school website, school office, local Walmart, Dollar General and Fred’s.

Class lists will not be posted until mid-July. The child’s 2014-2015 classroom teacher will be in contact with the parents.

All 2014-2015 registration forms may be completed and brought to orientation. Those can be found on the odenvilleelementary.org website.

OES orientation for Pre-K will be Monday, July 28 from 6 to 7 p.m.

OES orientations will be held Monday, Aug. 4, as follows: second grade at 4:30 p.m., kindergarten at 5:30 p.m. and first grade at 6:30 p.m. The first full school day for students will be Thursday, August 7.

Summer Reading lists and Summer Math Practice sheets were sent home with students on the last day of school. It is very important for your child to continue to develop reading and math skills over the summer. Research and data show that if children are not engaged in learning over the summer months, they fall behind when the new school year begins.

The Scholastic Summer Challenge is a free reading program dedicated to stopping the “Summer Slide” and encouraging kids to read every day this summer. Now in its eighth year, the Summer Challenge invites kids to log the minutes they spend reading as they Read for the World Record.

Kids can participate in weekly challenges, earn digital rewards, enter sweepstakes to win fabulous prizes, find great books to read, and more. Information is available to parents on how they can access this program as OES helps bridge the school-to-home connection and keep kids reading all summer long.

Moody Junior High School

Moody Junior High School Donation Days will be July 29-30 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The donation amount requested is $25.

Orientation for the school will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5 as follows: eighth grade from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and seventh grade 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Everyone meets in the multipurpose room at their prescribed start time.
