TALLADEGA -- The Talladega Lions Club welcomed District Gov. Don Kessler to its regular meeting last week.
Kessler presented the club, chaired by Ray Miller, with the William Chandler Membership Award, in recognition of the fact the club has grown some 47 percent in the past year.
There are 49 clubs in Kessler’s district, which he said he recently represented at the international organization’s 100th anniversary in Chicago. Some 47,000 clubs in 2,700 districts were represented, he said. And those clubs have helped more than 100 million people in the past two years.
