TALLADEGA -- The work session scheduled for Monday, Nov. 28, by the Talladega City Board of Education was canceled due to an apparent communication breakdown, according to board Chairman Jake Montgomery.

The board was scheduled to meet with the architect regarding the ongoing elementary school gym construction projects, but there was a miscommunication between the board and the architect about when the meeting would have been.

“The architect wasn’t there, so we really couldn’t do anything,” Montgomery said.

Superintendent Terry Roller and board member Chuck Roberts will be meeting with the architect at some point and then reporting back to the board, Montgomery said.

He added that the board’s next meeting was scheduled for Dec. 13, and that board members had not decided if they would take up the complaint against member Mary McGhee by coach Chucky Miller at that meeting or during a called meeting.
