SYLACAUGA -- A two-vehicle crash at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday has claimed the life of a Sylacauga woman and injured one other.

Latonya Chrystal Annette Boone, 32, was killed when the 2003 Ford Taurus she was driving collided with a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by Ashelea Jonelle McCain, 26, of Sylacauga, according to a State Trooper press release this morning.

Both vehicles left the roadway, and Boone’s Taurus struck a tree. Boone, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

McCain was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center for her injuries.

The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 21, two miles north of Sylacauga.

No further details were available this morning as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
