Leeds' Etheridge coaching in all-star football game

Looking for someone to be a head coach for an Alabama All-Star football game? Look no further than Leeds head football coach Keith Etheredge.

In eight seasons as the Green Wave head coach, Etheredge has guided Leeds to an overall record of 90-21. His state playoff record is an astounding 25-6 with two Class 3A state titles in 2008 and 2010.

Etheredge is the head coach of the North squad in tonight’s North/South All-Star game being played in Montgomery’s Crampton Bowl.

“This is a huge honor,” Etheredge said. “There are some amazing kids down here who are great athletes. We have had a great week of practice.”

Etheredge said he was blessed and fortunate.

“It is nice to get to do these things,” he said. “I attribute all of this to my coaching staff back home in Leeds.”

Speaking of back home, Etheredge has a couple of local players on his North squad. First is former Leeds center Jacob Callaway and also on the team is former St. Clair County Saints offensive lineman Justin Armstrong.

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. tonight.
