Editor, The Daily Home:

I enjoyed seeing the picture of the beautiful girls in The Daily Home article about Sylacauga’s High School Annual.

I thought someone might like to know how the annual got its name. The Syhiscan staff was organized in 1942. A contest was held to name it, and Miss Virginia Hammonds won the contest by using the first two letters of Sylacauga High School Annual.

This information was provided by Mrs. Sue Haynes.
