With a goal of creating music for television and motion pictures, Joey Hodge left his Talladega home to pursue his dreams. He was recognized for his work recently with his first Emmy, the award presented by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for excellence in the field.

The Midsouth Regional Emmy was for his original score for the Nashville Public Television documentary “Looking Over Jordan.”

The composer and sound designer also creates music and sound effects for production music libraries and records classical and progressive rock music for commercial distribution. He also ventures into orchestral, new age and pop music, and occasionally performs on keyboard as a sideman in performances with other musicians.

Hodge’s early interest in training in music began in his hometown, where a host of relatives celebrated the news of his award.

We commend Hodge for pursuing his dreams and congratulate him on the honor.
