TALLADEGA -- Smart and stylish students using a search engine to seek information on Talladega College might find an unexpected offer.

Attempts to pull up the Talladega College website,, using the Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines will redirect web surfers to a discount Louis Vuitton handbag retail site,

Tysus Jackson, the college’s vice president of institutional advancement, said she did not know what caused the glitch, but college officials were working to fix it.

“We are aware of the situation. Our information technology department is working to fix the problem,” Jackson said.

Links to the specific pages within the school’s site, such as the admission and history pages, appear to be unaffected by the glitch.

Users who enter the web address directly into an internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer will bypass the unexpected shopping opportunity.

But for a limited time only, students looking for the latest handbag to accessorize their fall wardrobe may find just what they're looking for by searching for Talladega College through a web browser.
