U.S. Paralympian Blake Leeper will be the featured speaker for the 'Stake and Steak Dinner' fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of East Alabama.

The dinner will be Thursday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Anniston City Meeting Center.

Leeper, a bilateral below-the-knee amputee, won five world championship medals and two Paralympic medals and is a member of Team USA. He was recently inducted to the Boys & Girls Club Hall of Fame.

The annual dinner will help raise funding needed to support the eight clubs in East Central Alabama which serve more than 690 registered members each year. Many of these children and teenagers come from disadvantaged circumstances, and look to the club as an important stabilizing force in their lives.

The ‘Stake & Steak Dinner’ will help bridge the financial gap between the $650 annual cost needed to provide each club member's program and services.

The fundraising goal for Boys & Girls Club is $100,000. Sponsorship opportunities are available by purchasing a table for your company, family, and friends.
