A fire Saturday morning caused heavy damage to three units at Sunrise Apartments in Talladega, although no one was hurt in the blaze. Talladega firefighters and police and NorthStar paramedics all responded to the incident.
According to Talladega Fire Capt/ Ronnie Davis, the initial call came in at 8:55 a.m. Saturday morning and first responders remained on the scene until 11:32 a.m.
The fire, which appears to have been electrical in nature, started in apartment 61 of the complex on Broadway Avenue, then broke through a back window and spread to an overhang and then into apartments 60 and 63 as well. Davis said all three apartments appeared to have been occupied, but all occupants were able to get out safely.
There was heavy fire, smoke and water damage throughout apartment 61 and fire damage to one room each in 60 and 62, he added.
