Sylacauga man charged with sodomy

The Sylacauga Police Department announced the arrest of a 50-year-old Sylacauga man charged with first-degree sodomy.

Sylacauga Police chief investigator Lt. Willis Whatley said the man was arrested earlier this month and transported to the Talladega County Jail. Bond was set at $50,000.

Sodomy first degree is a Class A felony, and upon convictoin can carry a sentence of 10 years to life in prison.

The Daily Home generally does not publish the names of suspects involved in cases involving sex until after they have been indicted by a grand jury.
