The Talladega Fire Department responded to 13 calls between June 5 and June 12, according to Capt, Ronny Davis.

The week’s first call was for an arcing power line on Alabama 77 North, on June 6. The following day involved responses to a train wreck at Court and Coosa streets and a pedestrian struck by a car on Grizzell Lane.

June 8 was quiet, but on June 9 firefighters responded to structure fire calls on Cedars Road and McAlpine Street, as well as an alarm call at Citizens Baptist Medical Center and a downed power line on South Street East.

On Tuesday, the calls included a multi-vehicle accident with no injuries on Renfroe Road, a transformer fire on Roosevelt Street and an alarm call from Talladega Creek Road.

Davis said Wednesday’s calls included requests for assistance from paramedics on Renfroe Road and West Street North, and a smell of gas from a possible leak on Costner Street.
