A Talladega man has been arrested for a second time for violating the community notification act for convicted sex offenders, according to Talladega Police Department Capt. Leon Thomas.

Roger Lynn Johnson, 41, was convicted of rape in the second degree of a 15-year-old female in 1992. He was released from prison in 2012, according to the state Department of Public Safety, the agency that maintains Alabama’s sex offender registry. A year after being released from prison, he was registered as living on Wanda Circle.

Thomas said investigators received information that Johnson was living with a woman on East Street at an address too close to a daycare facility for Johnson to live legally. He was arrested, posted bond and then moved back to the same location, Thomas said. He was rearrested Saturday morning.

Thomas said the woman Johnson was allegedly living with lied to police and could be facing criminal charges of her own, although as of Monday, she had not been arrested.
