Austin Tucker has run for too many yards to count this season, and he didn’t stop running until the last minutes of his high school football career last week.
Tucker ran for 260 yards and two touchdowns in Ohatchee’s loss to Piedmont in the Class 3A semifinals last week.
Even when the game seemed out of reach for the Indians, Tucker continued to get yards when he scored on runs of 47 and 70 yards.
Tucker finished the season with more than 2,000 yards rushing and 26 touchdowns.
Here are some other notable performances from last week.
Taylor Hayes, Piedmont: Hayes was responsible for seven touchdowns in Piedmont’s 53-26 victory against Ohatchee last week. He threw five touchdown passes for 219 yards and he rushed for two more and 157 yards.
Cardavion Myers, Piedmont: Myers finished with four catches for 105 yards and two touchdown receptions. He also had 13 tackles on defense.
Austin Brazier, Piedmont: Brazier finished with four catches for 50 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he had five tackles, a sack and a tackle for a loss.
Cobey McFry, Piedmont: McFry finished with two interceptions for the Bulldogs’ defense.
Taylor Morrow, Piedmont: Morrow had an interception and nine tackles for the Bulldogs.
Devontae Houston, Handley: Houston finished with 118 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown in Handley’s 19-0 win against Andalusia in the Class 4A semifinals.
Hudson Burns, Handley: Burns was a perfect 2-for-2 on extra points and also had a 38-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
