Auburn Tigers
Wide receiver Deandre Green (ankle) remains questionable in the event that Auburn and LSU play their Southeastern Conference game Saturday.

Green sustained a right-ankle sprain during Auburn's win over Ole Miss over the weekend.

"He's about 70, 75 percent," Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said. "It looks like he will play in the game."

Another question mark is defensive back Rashaud Walker (ankle). Walker played against Ole Miss last weekend but is not at 100 percent.

Whether he plays has much to say about how Auburn's coaches shuffle the secondary. News was encouraging after Tuesday's practice.

"Today, he was moving around pretty decent," defensive coordinator John Lovett said. "If he's full-speed, then he'll go back to start at rover, and we'll move Roderick (Hood) back out to corner, like we were planning on starting the season."

Alabama Crimson Tide
Tailback Ahmaad Galloway said he remembers a lot about last year's game against Southern Miss.

None of what he remembers of the 21-0 beating is pleasant.

"It was real humiliating," Galloway said. "They just came out and they beat us physically, but that's because they had already beat us mentally before we even stepped out on the field."

Galloway is referring to the preparation going into the game when he said it was obvious the previous coaching staff was becoming divided.

"A lot of people think (the problems) starting happening after Southern Miss," Galloway said. "Even before that our minds weren't in to it. If you want to know the truth it was before we even kicked off against UCLA. As the season went on, it just got worse."

Redshirt freshman Justin Smiley has played quite well in his first two games with the Tide, recording a team-high 17 knockdowns.

It's something the 6-foot-3, 292-pounder takes great pride in.

"I'm excited about it," Smiley said. "It's a big deal for offensive lineman."

Dante Ellington and Alonzo Ephraim have been a bit more consistent than Smiley, who said his trying to get that consistency and keep his explosiveness off the ball.

"I come off the ball trying to hit somebody and knock people down," Smiley said. "Dante and Alonzo are real fundamentally sound. I'm trying to get there, too."

Smiley said the goal for each offensive lineman is 15 knockdowns a game. He's hoping for a few more this week.

"Hopefully this week I can get 20 and we can win a ballgame," he said. "That'd be great."
