  • Time frame: Late Cretaceous Period from 80 million to 65 million years ago

  • Diet: Ate about 50 to 100 pounds of meat from other dinosaurs every day

  • Height: 12 feet at hip, 14 feet at head

  • Weight: 6 to 8 tons for adults

  • Length: 40 to 44 feet long from nose to tail

  • Senses: Good eyesight and an amazing sense of smell

  • Top speed: Unknown, but many scientist believe they were able to chase down food

  • Arms: Short, stubby two-fingered arms could probably lift about 400 pounds each

  • Teeth: More than 60 sharp, serrated teeth, some were 9 and 10 inches long

  • Family habits: Laid eggs and may have formed small packs or pairs

  • Territory: Mostly western United States and Canada with cousins in Mongolia, Argentina and the eastern United States.
