TALLADEGA — With its unpredictably, planning at Talladega Superspeedway is almost useless.
In Sunday’s Aaron’s 499, Kevin Harvick emphasized the need for the word almost, snapping a 115-race winless streak by beating Jamie McMurray.
On the absolute final overtime lap of the Aaron’s 499, Harvick pushed Jamie McMurray into the tri-oval with the checkered flag in view and the pack well behind both of them — just liked he’d practiced it.
“We knew coming into the tri-oval we needed to be second,” he said. “ ... That’s exactly how we’d planned it out on paper.”
