Representative Barbara Boyd on Jan. 28 presented a framed Resolution, passed and signed in 2012, from the Alabama House of Representatives honoring the Alabama Scenic River Trail (ASRT), the longest waterway within any state in America at 631 miles, as becoming a National Water Trail. The designation by the White House and Interior Secretary Balazar, as one of only seven such waterways in the US, is an honor as the ASRT is the only one run by volunteers and is three times longer than the longest of the other six named.
