Geraldine man shot after giving woman a ride
A 70-year-old Geraldine area man was trying to do a good deed early Saturday when a woman he gave a ride to attempted to rob him and shot him in the chest.
Charles “Pete” Batey, 70, was hospitalized at UAB Hospital late Saturday, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said.
