Gadsden wants to crack down on occupational license fee refunds

The Gadsden City Council’s Finance Committee wants other municipalities in Etowah County to claim their portion of occupational license fee refunds from individuals who say they spend time working outside of Gadsden’s city limits.

All employees who work in the city of Gadsden are required to pay the city an occupational license fee of 2 percent of their gross compensation.
