The Birmingham Business Journal reports that the March foreclosure numbers for the state are looking better than recent months.

RealtyTrac, a national tracker of foreclosures, reported 2,295 properties were in some form of foreclosure last month, which is a 0.17 percent increase over February and a 1.55 percent increase over the same month last year. It’s also a rate of one foreclosure for every 941 households and ranked Alabama 33rd in the nation.

In February, Alabama foreclosures saw a spike of 27 percent over the previous month and 221 percent over the previous year.
