Federal judge may ease electronic recording requirement for 2 indicted in Alabama bingo case
A federal judge will decide if a state senator and a lobbyist indicted in a federal vote buying case will have to audio record all of their conversations with elected officials while they are awaiting trial.
Federal prosecutors agreed to lift the recording provision, which was a condition of release on bond, after defendants argued it was too cumbersome. A federal judge will hold a telephone conference today to discuss the proposed change.
