Davis, Sparks primary battle could go down to wire
Artur Davis and Ron Sparks have taken different routes to the June 1 Democratic gubernatorial primary.
Davis, 42, an attorney and a four-term congressman originally from Montgomery and now from Birmingham, is the first African-American with a realistic chance of winning a major party’s nomination for Alabama governor. Polls show him leading.
