The Alabama Department of Public Safety has issued an Amber Alert for a missing 12-year-old Virginia girl whose mother was found dead in their home Monday.

Authorities believe the girl and her alleged abductor, identified as 32-year-old Jeffrey Scott Easley, may be traveling through Alabama in a silver Dodge Neon with Virginia license plate XKF2365.
