Ignore that Annoying Lemon in the commercials. The new frozen strawberry lemonade at McDonald’s is a decent summer treat (especially given the dearth of snow-cone stands around here).

It’s constructed so that you can mix and match to suit your own tastes. In the bottom of the cup is a shot of strawberry syrup. On top is the frozen lemonade, which is soft like a sorbet, not crunchy like a slushy. The syrup is sticky-sweet. The lemonade is sour-tart. Stir them together to get the balance that you like. We preferred to eat ours with a spoon rather than a straw.

It’s truly refreshing on a hot afternoon.

They’re $1.69 for a small, $1.99 for a medium, $2.29 for a large.
