When I returned to live in Anniston in 2011, my hometown was gone. Anniston had declined so much that I hardly recognized it. My favorite stores on Noble Street had ceased to exist. Other stores are empty with only dilapidated storefronts remaining. The special ambiance and many of the wonderful people that I once loved here have disappeared.

When I grew up in Anniston, people didn’t have to keep their front doors locked. The streets I once safely walked are now dangerous even if I’m in my car. I want my town back, so I want a capable person in the mayor’s seat to usher in the positive changes that Anniston so desperately needs. Vaughn Stewart is that capable person.

I’ve been listening to the various candidates and their ideas for improving Anniston, but Vaughn makes the most sense. While serving as a volunteer for his campaign, I am not only hearing about numerous creative solutions, but I am also seeing a man who has the drive and determination to see his ideas through. He is a mediator by nature and can work cooperatively with anyone he comes across. This is a critical virtue for anyone who plans to work cooperatively with other people.

If you want your town back like I do, please support the candidate who has the best chance of doing just that. Vaughn Stewart is my choice, and I hope he will be yours, too.
