I’ve never seen my beloved Anniston so divided and gridlocked. We sorely need a uniter — someone who can bring together different factions and find common solutions to Anniston’s problems. That person is Vaughn Stewart. I’ve known Vaughn for more than 40 years; he graduated from Anniston High School with my daughter.

The closing of Cobb High School in 1973 was a tumultuous time for the Anniston city schools. As a member of the student leadership, Vaughn righted the ship. He welcomed former Cobb students to AHS with open arms and created one unified student body. The success of recent class reunions is a tribute to his efforts.

Anniston needs someone with the right dose of pragmatism and level-headedness. Fortunately, he’ll be on the ballot in August. Join me in electing Vaughn Stewart.
