State second cheapest for home health care
The Birminham Business Journal reports that a recent study shows that Alabama is the second most affordable state for home health care.
The median annual rate for home care costs in Alabama is $34,320 statewide, which is about 21 percent below the national median annual rate of $43,472.
Alabama’s median hourly rate for home care is $15. In Birmingham, the hourly rate is $16, lower than the national average of $19.
