I am constantly amazed and angered at the lack of comprehension expressed by the voters of Alabama.

The Republicans continually harp on tax frugality, yet tax frugality is lost at the checkout counter, as evidenced by the news of today. I do not have any children in school, but it is utterly stupid to think we are saving tax dollars when, for several years now, we have had to furnish schoolhouse toiletries, and now we must pay extra for schoolhouse condiments.

What is next, must we soon rent a chair during the lunch periods?
